City Top Cop holds peace meeting ahead of Bakrid festival

Mysore/Mysuru: To ensure Bakrid festival be celebrated in a peaceful manner, City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh held a peace meeting with heads of Hindu and Muslim communities at his Office in city yesterday.

Smooth flow of traffic near Eidgah Grounds on the day of the festival and celebration of the festival in a peaceful manner were discussed at the meeting.

The Top Cop informed the leaders of both communities not to give room for any untoward incidents and warned of initiating legal action if there is disturbance to law and order situation during celebration of the festival.

DCPs M. Muthuraj (Law and Order) and S. Jahnavi (Crime and Traffic), ACPs of Narasimharaja, Devaraja, Krishnaraja and Vijayanagar Sub-Divisions, Inspectors of Narasimharaja, Mandi, Udayagiri and Lashkar Police Stations, heads of Hindu and Muslim communities, Corporators and others were present at the meeting.
