City vegetable merchant helps Kodagu flood victims

Mysuru: A vegetable merchant of city has helped eight families of Kalur village near Madikeri in Kodagu who were left devastated in the recent floods in Kodagu.

The good Samaritan Umapathi Rao, a vegetable merchant at APMC was very hurt learning that several families in Kodagu were still not rehabilitated after devastation in recent floods and still remaining in temporary care centres. Umapathi Rao accompanied by Puttaraju, Vijay, Umesh, Venkatesh and others reached Kalur village on Monday and distributed Rs. 6,000 cash and a bag of fruits and vegetables to each family. He interacted with those family members and instilled confidence in them.
