Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka BJP General Secretary N. Ravikumar said, “Women empowerment is the only way to uplift our country. Women must get recognition and place in the present society. India is not a male dominant country. It is a place where we see women as goddess and worship them. Even our country is called as Bharathambe.”

“The mindset of a few people about women cannot change. They always see women as a machine to give birth to kids or marry them once they enter adolescent age. Such kind of mindset must change by creating awareness among the people by educating them,” he added.

Pointing out that Dr. Ambedkar wrote the Indian Constitution after getting inspired by his mother, Ravikumar said that there are 11 Women Ministers in the present State Cabinet who are striving to build a society that Basavanna and Dr. Ambedkar dreamt of.

Karnataka Forest Development Corporation Chairperson and actress Tara Anuradha who too spoke said, “Women are the strength to the society. Everyone must work to uplift the self respect of a women. It is necessary to prove the respect shown towards her,” she said.

City BJP Mahila Morcha President Hema Nandish presided over the event.
