City Wushu Coach to train State Junior team

U. Darshan from the city has been appointed as a coach of Karnataka State Junior Wushu team that is participating in the 22nd Junior National Wushu Championship organised by Bihar Wushu Association under the auspices of Wushu Association of India, from Aug. 6 to 11 at Pataliputra Indoor Stadium, Patna, Bihar. Darshan has completed his Diploma in Sports Coaching in Wushu (Martial Arts) with All India Rank-2 from Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala, an academic wing of Sports Authority of India (SAI). He also holds the distinction of being the first person from Karnataka to complete one year diploma in NSNIS in Wushu.

Darshan has to his credit 10 gold medals in State-level tournaments, one national level medal by qualifying to the quarter-finals for four times. He has also won two medals at international-level tournaments.
