Climatic changes vividly portrayed on canvas

May 21, 2018

Mysuru: An exhibition of paintings in water colour brought out by artist H.P. Rangaswamy was inaugurated at Bharani Art Gallery in Vivekanandanagar here yesterday.

The paintings were mostly focussed on nature and vividly depicted the correlation between change of seasons and adaptations of the greenery. The paintings give an insight to climatic changes and response of nature which many people fail to notice and relish, possibly being too pre-occupied with daily stress.

Former President of Kodava Cultural and Sports Club P.K. Somaiah inaugurated the expo.

Speaking on the occasion, theatre artiste Mandya Ramesh observed that the concept of art in various forms originated from adivasis and added that theatre comprises all variants of any art.

The expo is organised by Bharani Art Gallery as part of its 24th anniversary. The entry is free and is open daily from 10.30 am to 7 pm. The expo concludes tomorrow.

Sree Kalanikethana School of Arts Principal K.C. Mahadeva Shetty, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, Gallery Founder and senior artist N.B. Kaverappa, former CAVA Dean Ramdas Adyantaya, artist H.P. Rangaswamy and others were present.
