Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah yesterday laid the foundation for a massive Underground Drainage (UGD) works taken up by Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWS &DB) at Yelwal in the outskirts of the city at a cost of Rs.23 crore.
The CM laid the foundation after visiting Maramma Temple at Yelwal. Former MLA Satyanarayan, leaders Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah, Koorgalli Mahadev, K. Marigowda, Rakesh Papanna and others were present.
The Rs.23 crore project includes construction of 22 km network UGD, UGD connection to 2,890 households, 1.8 million litre water treatment plant, drawing of 11kv powerline and installation of water pumping machineries and transformers.
