CM Siddharamaiah takes part in son’s death anniversary

Mysore/Mysuru: After inspecting the Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah yesterday arrived in the city later in the afternoon to a rousing welcome by Congress party workers at the Toll Gate on Mysuru-Bengaluru Road.

Hundreds of party workers had gathered at the Toll Gate anticipating the arrival of Siddharamaiah and as soon as his car arrived at the spot, the workers  stepped on to the road.

Seeing the crowd on the road, Siddu asked his car driver to stop, when the crowd rushed to the car to welcome him by garlanding.  The Police had a tough time in controlling the crowd. The CM who stopped at the Toll Gate for about 5 minutes, later resumed his journey.

Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda, former Zilla Panchayat (ZP) President K. Marigowda, City Congress President R. Murthy, District President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, leaders NandeeshPreetam, Ashok and others were present.

CM takes part in his son’s death anniversary

Chief Minister Siddharamaiah attended the rituals of the death anniversary of his elder son Rakesh Siddharamaiah at the family’s farmland at T. Katur village in the taluk.

Rakesh passed away on July 29, 2016 and his last rites were conducted at T. Katur farmland. Since then, Siddharamaiah has been visiting the farmland for taking part in the death anniversary rituals.

On Saturday, Siddu, along with his wife Parvati, younger son Dr.Yathindra Siddharamaiah, daughter-in-law Smitha Rakesh, grandson Dhavan Rakesh, Granddaughter Tanmayi Rakesh, brother Siddegowda and other family members, performed puja at Rakesh Memorial.

District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, the CM’s Joint Secretary M. Ramaiah, MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah, K.R. Nagar MLA D. Ravishankar, former MLA M.K. Somashekar, leaders K. Marigowda, C. Basavegowda, Dr.Shushruth, Rakesh Papanna, SudhaMahadevaiah, Basavaraj and others were present.

Later, the CM received inputs from Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. K.V. Rajendra, ZP CEO K.M. Gayatri, SP Seema Latkar, City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh and other officials on the progress of ongoing works and projects in the district.

Thereafter, the CM travelled to Bengaluru by road later in the evening, with no Zero Traffic in place all along the route.
