Collision between KSRTC buses: Death toll rises to 3

Mysuru: The death toll in the head-on collision between two KSRTC buses near Shanthagiri estate close to Suntikoppa on Mysuru-Madikeri highway in Kodagu district on Thursday, has risen to three, with the death of a woman passenger of one the buses, at a private hospital in the city in the wee hours of today.

The deceased has been identified as Shanthi (66), wife of Ramappa of Hunsur Taluk.

Meanwhile, the condition of another injured passenger Jagadish, 48, of Bettahalli in Somwarpet Taluk, continues to be critical, according to hospital sources.

Yesterday, two drivers were killed on the spot and over 15 passengers were injured, five of them critically.

Palaksha (52) and Moideen Sharif (54) were the drivers who were killed in the mishap.
