Mysuru: “Whether we realise it or not, we are communicating all the time. Given the number of platforms and devices that we use as we live out of our daily lives and the multitasking routines that call for, most of us are pretty good communicators,” opined Dr. Poornima, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Maharani’s College, Mysuru.
She was speaking at a Special Lecture Series on the topic ‘Communicative Skills Vs Interpersonal Skills’ conducted by the Department of English in Vidyavardhaka First Grade College, Mysuru, on Dec.27.
In her lecture, she gave insight about how communication can be made effective by the use of seven basic principles or in other words 7 Cs — Clear, Concise, Concrete, Correct, Coherent, Complete and Courteous — and also focused her views on the aspects of interpersonal skills.
Head of Dept. of Commerce and Management Prof. B.M. Manjula rendered the keynote address. Co-ordinator of Special Lecture Cell Dr. C.R. Sindhu, staff and students were also present on the occasion.
