Communication skills is a must for everyone: Dr. Niranjana

Mysuru: Maintaining that Communication Skills is a must for everyone these days, Music University Registrar Dr. Niranjana, who is also the Professor of Communication and Journalism, University of Mysore, said that in today’s society, how one communicates is what matters.

He was speaking after inaugurating a day-long State-Level workshop on ‘Effective Communication in Media,’  organised by the Department of Communication and Journalism, St. Joseph’s First Grade College, at its premises in Jayalakshmipuram here this morning.

Pointing out that although one may be good in academics, effective communication holds key to success, Dr. Niranjana observed that good communication skills will enhance confidence.

Noting that good communication skills is very much acknowledged in the society, he said that a person with good and effective communication skills will always be remembered by the people.

Highlighting the role of communication in today’s society, he said that a scientist cannot effectively present his research if he or she lacked in communication skills.

Underlining the role of communication in every field, he called upon the students to focus on learning communication skills as it would be of great help in their future career.

About 100 students from various colleges are taking part. Mysore Diocesan Educational Society Secretary and Correspondent Rev. Fr. Vijaykumar, St. Baptist and St. Joseph’s Educational Institutions Priest In-charge Rev. Fr. Praveen Kumar, St. Joseph’s College CEO Prof. Mani Mathew, Principal Dr. V. Niveditha and others were present.
