Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, is bringing three concerts for music connoisseurs this December. All the concerts will be held at the Sabha premises on JLB Road.
Dec. 7 (5.30 pm): Dr. R. Ganesh will present a vocal recital at 5.30 pm accompanied by Dr. Jyotsna Manjunath on violin, Vinod Anoor on mridanga and Sharat Kaushik on ghata.
Dr. R. Ganesh is a vocalist who has performed in leading music institutions in India and abroad. A veterinary doctor by profession and qualification, Dr. Ganesh later became a full time musician and Nama Sankeertanam exponent.
An ‘A’ grade artiste in All India Radio and Doordarshan, he is a descendent of the great composers Kavi Kunjara Bharati and Koteeswara Iyer. Ganesh is a direct disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi late Maharajapuram Santanam and was fortunate to accompany his Guru in many concerts. He is a recipient of many prestigious awards including The Maharajapuram Memorial Prize.
He has released more than 30 audio albums in Karnatak Music and Nama Sankeertanam. This concert is sponsored by Seetha Vatsalachari.
Dec. 8 (6 pm): ‘The Lakshya Quartet’ – This concert, sponsored by the daughters of late art patron K.V. Murthy, is a special concert by four artistes K.J. Diliip (violin), Ila Sangeetha Diliip (vocal), Sunaad Anoor (rhythms) and Aman Mahajan (keyboard).
‘The Lakshya Quartet’ is a contemporary Indian music ensemble that skillfully navigates diverse musical formats. Born from a shared passion for music and a compelling desire to broaden their musical horizons, Lakshya is the brain child of these four long standing friends. With performances in India and Europe, their musical odyssey spans a wide spectrum, establishing a unique blend of Karnatak Music and traditional and contemporary musical expressions.
The creative output of Lakshya is a result of an intriguing mix of enjoyment, experimentation and a harmonious synchronisation of artistic energies. Dec. 9 (6 pm): N.H. Shrihari Bhat will give a vocal recital with Yashasvi on violin, Nandan Kashyap on mridanga and Shamit Gowda on ghata. This concert is sponsored by Iyengar brothers and Leela Acharya.
Shrihari Bhat is a young professional Karnatak vocalist. He started learning Classical Music at a tender age of eight years under Vid Mangala. He then took further training under D.N. Nagarajan, Dr. R.N. Taranathan and Sangeetha Samrat Chitraveena Ravikiran.
At present, he is learning under A.S. Murali, Chennai. He has won numerous prizes and accolades. He is an Akashvani graded artiste from Bengaluru. He was awarded the ‘Udayonmukhi Award 2022’ in the National-level Music Festival Concert Competition. He was also the finalist in the ‘Times Thyagaraja Awards-2021,’ Chennai.He has performed for many prestigious organisations including Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Bengaluru, Nada Neerajanam programme, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Tirumala and Ekata Sangeetha Sabha, UAE.
