Condolence meeting

Ganabharathi has organised a condolence meeting tomorrow (Jan. 4) at 6 pm, to pay homage to Vid. R. Paramashivan, well-known theatre musician, composer and director, who passed away on Dec. 31.  Senior theatre personalities like Janardhan, Mandya Ramesh, Addanda C. Cariappa and Puttannaiah will pay homage to the departed soul.  The event will be available live in Ganabharathi Facebook page and YouTube channel. 

A man with rich, varied and vast experience, Paramashivan had acquired competence in Karnatak music, stage music, music composition and performance, both as singer and instrumentalist.  Paramashivan has several audio-cassettes and CDs to his credit brought out by well-known cultural institutions.  He was recipient of many awards and titles like Kalashree by the Karnataka Academy, Karnataka Government’s Suvarna Karnataka Rajyothsava Award, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his contribution to music in Indian theatre.
