Mysore/Mysuru: Joining the efforts in the battle against the deadly Novel Corona Virus(COVID-19),the Doctors cell of the State congress unit launched a COVID-19 helpline(080- 47188000) here on Friday.

Announcing this at a press meet at the Congress office near the city Railway station here yesterday, KPCC Doctors cell General Secretary Dr.Bharathkumar said the members of the public can call the helpline-080-47188000 for COVID-19 or for any other medical consultation. Pointing out that more than 200 doctors are part of this helpline, who will give medical advice based on the ailments described by the callers, he said that the doctors will also issue prescriptions over the phone in accordance with the symptoms or disease explained by the callers. Medical advice will also be given for multi-specialities such as Cardiology, Neurology, Urology, Gynecology and Oncology, he said and added that the public can also make video calls to this helpline which will function round the clock.

Former MLA M.K.Somasekhar, who heads the COVID-19 Mysuru city congress task force, MLA Dr.Yathindra Siddharamaiah,District congress president Dr. B.J.Vijaykumar,city President R.Murthy,Doctors cell office-bearers Dr.Narendra, Dr. Pradeep, party leader D.Ravishankar and others were present at the press meet.
