Congress MLC accuses Modi of dividing religions

April 10, 2019

Mysuru: Congress MLC Ivan D’Souza has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of dividing religions for pushing his political agenda.

Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan here on Tuesday, Ivan D’Souza alleged that Modi had not initiated any programmes for the welfare of minority communities.

Accusing Modi of cheating the minorities, the MLC said that Modi was out to cheat the people again in the LS polls by calling himself a ‘Chowkidar.’

Alleging that Mysuru-Kodagu BJP MP Pratap Simha had done little for the Constituency, he urged the MP to come up with a white paper on his achievements over the past five years.

Lashing out at Pratap Simha for seeking votes in the name of PM Modi, D’Souza claimed that the MP was indulged in disturbing communal harmony.

Maintaining that the Modi Government at the Centre had done little for Karnataka, he expressed confidence that the coalition partners would romp home in over 20 LS seats in the State.

AICC Spokesperson Aishwarya Mahadev, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijayakumar, KPCC Secretary S. Shivanagappa and others were present.
