Sumalatha alleges conspiracy by opponents to defame her family

April 10, 2019

Srirangapatna: Accusing her main opponent of hatching a conspiracy to defame her family, actress Sumalatha Ambarish, wife of late actor-turned-politician Ambarish, who is contesting as an independent candidate from Mandya LS seat, has said that she would soon disclose all the dirty tricks being played by her opponent.

Addressing a poll rally at T.M. Hosur in the taluk yesterday, Sumalatha alleged that JD(S) was luring her domestic staff to come out with defamatory allegations against her family.

Claiming that she has come to know that a press meet will be held shortly to defame her family, Sumalatha charged that JD(S) had lured her staff of a foreign trip and Rs.10 lakh cash if they came out with defamatory remarks against Ambarish family.

Lashing out at the JD(S) candidate for making cheap remarks against actor Yash who has been actively campaigning for her, Sumalatha alleged that the JD(S) had stooped to making cheap personal attacks on her.

Stating that the people of Mandya have been closely watching all the developments, Sumalatha asserted that she had entered politics for the sake of Mandya and that the support of the people was her strength.

Maintaining that her decision to contest from Mandya was right, she said that she would explain to the people about the tricks being played to malign her reputation.
