Bengaluru: The Congress Government has recommended three nominees to the Legislative Council— Actress and former Minister Umashree (from Arts field), former Minister M.R. Seetharam (Educational field) and Sudham Das, a former ED official (Social service field).
But as there are objections to the nomination of Sitaram and Sudham Das, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot is said to have sought an explanation from the State Chief Secretary.
Though Siddharamaiah had personally met the Governor a few days ago regarding nominations to the Legislative Council, the Governor is yet to give nod to the list of nominees.
