Constitution Day held at Sarada Vilas Law College

December 9, 2018

Mysuru: Marking Constitution Day, Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions and Sarada Vilas Law College had organised a function at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall in Krishnamurthypuram here yesterday.

Inaugurating the programme, Karnataka High Court Additional Judge H.P. Sandesh opined that the future of the country is dependent on today’s students.

He pointed out that the Indian Constitution initially focussed only on fundamental rights of citizens but not on their responsibilities which was hence suitably amended later.

Sandesh, recalling his early school days in Kannada medium, said that English was a tough nut to crack then, especially in the absence of good language teachers. He suggested students to shun inferiority complex and face the competitive world with confidence.

He contended that people should be service-minded with no greed for money and power. He said that Swami Vivekananda in a short life-span of 39 years, conquered the world with his prowess in philosophy and added that age was not a limiting factor for achievement.

Principal District and Sessions Judge Suresh Lakshman Krishnappa Vantigodi, Principal Sessions Court (Mandya) Public Prosecutor H.E. Chinnappa and Mysore Bar Association President S. Anandkumar were the chief guests. Sarada Vilas Institutions President B.S. Parthasarathy and Hon. Secretary H.K. Srinath were present.

Three alumni of the College — D. Rohini, K. Gopalkrishna and Pratap Kumar — who have been selected for the post of Judges were felicitated on the occasion by the chief guests.
