Cop on duty dies of heart attack

Mysore/Mysuru: Shyam (37), a Police Constable at City Armed Reserve (CAR) Police force and a resident of Mandakalli, passed away following a heart attack at Jayadeva Hospital in city yesterday.

A native of Tagadur in Nanjangud taluk, he leaves behind his wife, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Shyam, who was on duty at Mandakalli Airport yesterday, complained of severe chest pain at about 7.30 pm, following which he was rushed to Jayadeva Hospital on KRS Road where the doctors drew his blood for testing. But before the test report arrived, Shyam one again complained of severe chest pain, suffered a heart attack and died, it is learnt.

CAR DCP Shivaraj and other officers paid their respects to the departed soul.

Last rites were held at Tagadur this afternoon, according to sources.
