Mysuru: Siddarthanagar Traffic Police have traced a man who was served with 201 notices for various traffic violations in city and had not paid the fines.
The Traffic Cops on the night of July 22 were conducting checking on Mirza Road near Jayachamaraja Circle (Hardinge Circle) when a man riding a Bajaj Platina bike (KA-55 E-4785) suddenly took a ‘U’ turn on seeing the Cops and tried to flee.
But the Traffic Cops managed to catch him and on checking through their hand-held electronic gadget, the Cops came to know that the man, identified as Roshan Ali Baig of Rajivnagar, was served 201 traffic violation notices and had not paid the fines.
Siddarthanagar Traffic Inspector Harish Kumar, who seized the bike, issued another notice to Roshan besides asking him to pay the fines immediately.
City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao has asked those who have not paid the fines for traffic violations despite being served notices to immediately pay the same failing which legal action would be taken against them.
In Saudi Arabia whenever a traffic violation ticket is raised and information sent to a person’s mobile number, he is expected to pay up the fine through ATM within 7 days. On the 8th day it doubles, and on 16th day it triples and so on… If the same method is adopted by the Karnataka traffic police, this kind of incidences will never occur when a person is served with 201 violation notices and he has dunked them all for so many days. All traffic violations will be promptly paid within a week of its notice to the offender.
