Corona crisis: Minister on temple run

Mysore/Mysuru: Co-operation and District in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar was on a temple-run yesterday praying for banishing of COVID-19 pandemic which has wreaked havoc across the country.

Accompanied by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, Mayor Rukmini Madegowda, MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev and City BJP President T. S.Srivatsa, the Minister first visited Kote Maramma Temple where a special puja was organised. 

It is strongly believed that Kote Maramma, a Goddess will protect people from all kinds of endemics or pandemic. Mysureans, during summer season, offer curd, tender coconut and cooling items to keep her calm.

Shashishekar Dixit, Chief Priest, Sri Chamundeshwari Temple atop the Hill, conducted puja and offered prasada. He said the Goddess will help in saving people from the dreaded contagion.

Later, they visited Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram and offered puja to Dattatreya. Sri Ganapathy Swamiji was present.
