Couple injured as bike rams into scooter

Mysuru: A couple travelling on a scooter were injured when a bike rammed into it on Mahadevapura Road on Jan. 5 at about 10.30 pm.

The injured are Ateeq and his wife Reshma Banu, residents of Udayagiri in city. They have been admitted to a private hospital at Gandhinagar here.

Ateeq, along with his wife and his sister-in-law’s seven-year-old son were proceeding on a Suzuki Access scooter (KA-55-U-9751) from Udayagiri, when a speeding bike (KA-05-EY-5199) coming in the opposite direction rammed into the scooter near Jalapuri Quarters Cross, resulting in Ateeq and Reshma falling from the bike and getting injured. However, the child escaped without injuries. 

The bike rider fled from the spot soon after the accident. The injured were rushed to the private hospital by the public. 

Siddarthanagar Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, have registered a case and investigating.
