Mysuru: An 83-year-old man died within a few hours of his wife passing away, thus uniting her in death.
The couple, who died on the same day is Vasudeva (83) and his wife Chandramma (76), residents of Aravindanagar in city. They passed away yesterday.
They leave behind son Mohan Kumar, three daughters and a host of relatives and friends.
Vasudeva had served as a newspaper distributor for 45 years and the couple was married for 52 years. They used to prepare jamoon and other sweet items and supply it to hotels and shops.
Chandramma was suffering from heart-related ailments and about 20 days ago, Vasudeva had suffered paralysis. Worried about her husband’s health condition, Chandramma died yesterday at about 10.10 am. As the couple’s children had to arrive from other States, the last rites of Chandramma was decided to be held today (Friday), but Vasudeva too breathed his last at about 7.10 pm yesterday, uniting his wife in death.
Last rites were held at Jodi Tenginamara Burial Grounds at Bannimantap this afternoon, according to family sources.
Newspaper Distributors’ Welfare Association President J.S. Homadeva, office-bearers and members have condoled the death of Vasudeva and Chandramma couple.
