The unique art expo with the theme Earth, Greens, Life and Death, will be inaugurated by Dr. P. Prakash, Psychology Professor, Christ University, Bengaluru, at 11 am on Oct. 24.

K.B. Ganapathy, Founder-Editor, Star of Mysore and Mysuru Mithra, who is also the Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, will preside.

M. Chandrashekar, former President, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Mysuru and L. Shivalingappa, senior sculptor, writer and Founder, Mysore Art Gallery, will be the chief guests.

Speaking about the series, N.B. Kaverappa said: “I did CREATION-I series of paintings during the eighties — some 35 years ago. Soon, I wanted to continue the series with new paintings but could not do so. The force within cannot be suppressed for long. So, I commenced the ‘Creation-II’ series during 2018 and completed it during 2020-21. The dreaded pandemic and the human politics gave me new insight to the subject and I have completed 25 new paintings with new themes in the series.”

Briefing about the art work further, the senior artist said, “All I called “Contemporary Abstracts”, utilised “Forms and Colours” with great pleasure and pain to get into the theme. There are no “Untitled” ones. If an artist cannot name his creation, what purpose it serves to the society at large, is my opinion. There should be a hint (like a title) to the viewer to evaluate a work of art and understand it thoroughly.”

“I was actually arranging for post pandemic opening of Exhibitions at Bharani Art Gallery, Vivekanandanagar, with my own paintings during the beginning of 2021 itself. But due to the 2nd wave of the pandemic, I was forced to postpone it till this month. All the paintings are in oil colours on canvas framed properly for the exhibition and are executed during March 2018 and December 2020,” he added.
