Creation of fake documents to obtain illegal khata

Case booked against five persons including Tahsildar

Mysore/Mysuru: Following a complaint, Varuna Police have registered a case against five persons including a Tahsildar on charges of creating fake documents to obtain an illegal khata for an agricultural field.

Following a complaint from M. Ravi, son of late Mahadev, a resident of Rajarajeshwarinagar in city, a case has been booked under IPC Section 465, 468, 420 read with 34 on Dec. 14 by Varuna Sub-Inspector Lamani Sushma against Marigowda and Shivaram of Devegowdanahundi village in the taluk, Village Accountant (VA) Mahesh, Revenue Inspector and Tahsildar.

In his complaint, Ravi has stated that he is a Non Resident Indian (NRI) and stays in Saudi Arabia as he is working there and there is a land measuring 1.08 acre in Devegowdanahundi village belonging to his ancestors which is registered in his late father’s name.

He has further stated that his later grandfather Chikkamadegowda had divided the land equally and had given 1.08 acre land to his late father Mahadev, who was the son of his (Chikkamadegowda) first wife and had given another 1.08 acre land to his second wife Beeramma in 1994.

Later in 2014, Beeramma’s children Marigowda and Shivaram, got fake documents created to the 1.08 acre land belonging to his late father Mahadev and had got a khata done in Beeramma’s name illegally for which VA Mahesh, Revenue Inspector and Tahsildar helped them by misusing their powers, Ravi has further stated in his complaint and has produced documental proof.
