Cricket betting: Two arrested; Rs. 25,400 cash, two-wheeler, cellphones seized

Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) and N.R. Police, acting on a tip off that some people were indulging in cricket betting in public place near a ice cream parlour at Fountain Circle in N.R. Mohalla during Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians match on May 8, raided the place and arrested two persons besides seizing Rs. 25,400 cash, two cell phones, three ATM cards, one two-wheeler and other items.

The arrested persons have been identified as 23-year-old Rudresh of Rajendranagar in city and 33-year-old B.M. Shabarish of Dastikola village in Hunsur taluk. The Cops have launched a hunt to nab one more person who is absconding. CCB ACP C. Gopal supervised CCB Inspector J.C. Raju, N.R. Sub-Inspector Shabir Hussain, CCB ASI R. Raju and staff Joseph Naronha, P.N. Lakshmikanth, Ravikumar. Niranjan, Rajesh and staff of N.R. Police Station in the nabbing and seizing operation.
