Culinary contest at Millet Mela

Mysuru: The concluding day of the two-day organic millet mela organised by Department of Agriculture of Mysuru, Chamarajanagar and Ramanagar district at Scouts and Guides Grounds here featured a contest for women in dishing out delicacies made from millets.

About 30 women from three districts participated in the contest. The dishes churned out for the contest were halwa, dose, chakkuli and juice made from ragi, jowar dose, navane bisibele bath, arka churmuri and uppittu, sajje pakoda and mixed milled rotti.

The contest was judged by Dr. Vijayalakshmi, Organic Research Station, Naganahalli, Sashi of Bhuvi Naturals and Ashakumari of Sahaja Samruddhi Organisation. Technical session were also held.
