‘Culture unites us towards humanity’

DCP Geetha Prasanna inaugurates Kala Sambhrama-2022

Mysore/Mysuru: DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna inaugurated Kala Sambhrama-2022 at Vidyavardhaka First Grade College on Seshadri lyer Road in city recently.

Speaking on the occasion, the DCP said that culture always unites every one towards humanity. Stating that student-hood is always mesmerising, she became nostalgic about her student days.

Lauding the well-organised cultural programme which took away from hi-fi life of the day, she said such programmes will bring us back to our roots. Indian culture is in its unity, the family setting and in the cultural talents of younger generation, apart from curriculum, co-curricular activities as such is most essential part of life, she said.

Dr. S. Mari Gowda, Principal of the College, said that Kala Sambhrama is a cultural platform for indigenous culture, rustic tradition and it is a fruit of two important Forums like the Vidyarthi Sangha and Kannada Sangha in antiquity. More than just academic knowledge, inculcating creativity, resourcefulness, skill orientation is our aim. Our motive is not just prompting the student to gain a job but also to make them responsible citizens of India, he said and urged the students to expose themselves towards culture and tradition.

T. Nagaraju, CMC, said that such programmes are actually the brainchild of rustic environment. He remembered how villagers used to enact plays on stage and promote culture.

Gundappa Gowda, President, Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Mysuru, presided.  P. Vishwanath, Hon. Secretary, was the chief guest.  Shrishaila Ramannavar, Treasurer, Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Basavegowda and Narayan special invitees were present.

Prof. J. Manju rendered the invocation. Dr. Srinivasa, Co-ordinator, Kala Sambhrama-2022 welcomed. Dr. B.T Raghu compered the programme. N. Mohan Kumar proposed a vote of thanks. Teaching and non-teaching faculty, students and participants from various Colleges were present.
