Curtains drawn on three-day Women’s Sports Meet

The valedictory of three-day Mysore University Inter-Zonal Women’s Meet, organised jointly by the Dept. of Physical Education, University of Mysore and SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysuru, was held recently.

Teresian College, Mysuru,  grabbed the Overall Championship with 25 points. Mysore University PG Department of Physical Education secured the second place with 19 points. The host college, SBRR Mahajana First Grade College claimed the third place with 16 points.

Dr. Krishnaiah, Director, Dept. of Physical Education, UoM,  was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. Dr. Vijaylakshmi Murulidar, Hon. Secretary, Mahajana Education Society (MES), presided over the valedictory.

Dr. S. Venkataramu, Principal, Dr. S.R. Ramesh, CEO & Academic Advisor, retd. Principal PESS, UoM and Prof. Sheshanna were present at the prize distribution ceremony.

Dr. H.N. Bhaskar, Director, Department of Physical Education, proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. H.R. Thimmegowda, HoD, Kannada, welcomed the gathering.

Sunil, Faculty, Dept. of BBA, compered the programme. Madhusudhan, Dept. of Physical Education, shared the dais.

A large number of sports enthusiasts, students and staff were present on the occasion.

Badminton (Shuttle): SBRR Mahajana FGC, Mysuru – 1st place; Citizen FGC, Nanjangudu – 2nd place; PG Sports Council, Manasagangothri (MG), Mysuru – 3rd place; GFGC, K.R. Nagar – 4th place.

Basket Ball: Teresian FGC, Mysuru – 1st; SBRR Mahajana FGC, Mysuru – 2nd; PG Sports Council MG, Mysuru – 3rd; St. Joseph FGC, Mysuru – 4th.

Ball Badminton: Sri HDD GFGC, Paduvahippe – 1st; GCW, Hassan – 2nd; JSS CW, Mysuru – 3rd; PG Sports Council MG, Mysuru – 4th.
