Mysuru -Stating that tackling cyber crimes has become a challenge for Police across the globe, Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara said that exclusive Cyber Crime Police Stations will be setup in all district headquarters of the State shortly.
Addressing a press meet at a private hotel here this morning, he said he had recently visited UK along with six top Police officers of the State to learn about using the latest technology to deal with increasing crimes.
Explaining his UK visit, Dr. Parameshwara said he and his Police officers visited many seminars, workshops and other programmes to study the method adopted by the London Police on maintaining security and safety of people, pre vention of cyber crimes such as hacking etc.
Pointing out that the technology in Police Department will be upgraded in three phases at a cost of about Rs. 50 crore, the Home Minister said the upgradition will commence from Bengaluru next month.
Pointing out that Mysuru city got 23 new Police vehicles recently, Dr. Parameshwara said each vehicle is fitted with control room linked tablet, which will facilitate the Police to reach the spot of crime within minutes.
On bypolls: Referring to Gundlupet and Nanjangud by-polls, Dr. Parameshwara said the mood of the electorate in both the Assembly segments was to elect the ruling party candidate.
On HV’s remark: Referring to senior Congress leader H. Vishwanath’s criticism of the entire State Cabinet campaigning for the by-polls, Dr. Parameshwara defended deployment of some Ministers, saying that Ministers too are party workers and hence have been assigned specific tasks to ensure the victory of Congress candidates in the by-polls.
He further said that senior Ministers like T.B. Jayachandra and Kagodu Thimmappa were stationed at Bengaluru to oversee the functioning of the administrative machinery.
On cash for vote: Referring to a question on KPCC Women’s Wing President Lakshmi Hebbalkar caught on camera distributing money to the voters, Dr. Parameshwara said the BJP can complain to the Election Commission if Lakshmi had indeed distributed money.
