Dacoits waylay car, assault occupants and flee with Rs. 20 lakh cash, car

Mandya: Dacoits, who waylaid a car near Hosa Boodanur on Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway in Mandya, have assaulted the car occupants with lethal weapons and fled with Rs. 20 lakh cash and the car.

The car occupants, who lost their money and car, are Nilesh and his friend Rushikesh. They were on their way to Kerala after receiving Rs. 20 lakh cash from a gold businessman in Bengaluru.

Nilesh and Rushikesh were proceeding in their Maruti Swift car from Bengaluru and when they neared Hosa Boodanur, a gang of six dacoits, who came in a Hyundai Creta car, waylaid the car in which Nilesh and Rushikesh were travelling and assaulted them with iron rods and hammer and decamped with Rs. 20 lakh cash and the car.

Superintendent of Police (SP) N. Yathish said that Mandya Rural Police have registered a case and added that seven special Police teams have been formed and the dacoits will be nabbed soon.
