Daily essentials, medical equipment distributed to hospital, elderly and auto drivers in city

On the occasion of ‘Nudi Namana’ in memory of late Shivanagamma, mother of Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Kundur Mutt Seer Sri Sharathchandra distributed grocery kits to elderly persons residing in old age homes and sanitation workers in city recently.

Hindulida Vargagala Jagruta Vedike State President K.S. Shivaramu, Bharatiya Dalita Sahitya Parishat President of State Unit Dr. C. Venkatesh, Rohit Patil of Vidwath Innovative Solutions, Mysuru District Primary School Teachers Association Vice-President K.B. Somegowda, Government Employees Association Vice-President Malangi Suresh, All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha District President S. Shivamurthy Kanya, Sharana Sahitya Parishat District President M. Chandrashekhar, Mugur Nanjundaswamy and others were present.

City dentists Dr. N. Anusri and Dr. Nisarga Kansar, under the aegis of Ani Foundation, distributed grocery kits to over 50 auto drivers of Hebbal and Vijaynagar at Sankranti Circle in Hebbal here recently. Dr. Nisarga Kansar said, “Auto drivers have been severely hit by this lockdown and as a token of gratitude, we both decided to distribute grocery kits, which include rice, pulses, sugar and other essential commodities to over 50 auto drivers through our Ani Foundation.”

Rotary Panchsheel donated Oxygen Concentrators, face masks, oxygen mask, hand wash, soaps and other necessary items to PKTB and CD Hospital in city recently. The donations were handed over by Rotary Panchsheel President-Elect M.D. Harinath, Rtn. Anand and Rtn. Satish to PKTB Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. H.M. Virupaksha. Resident Medical Officer Dr. M. Jayashekar and Nursing Superintendent Vanajakshi were present.

On the occasion of Mask Day, Mysuru Yuva Balaga distributed face masks to children at Ambedkar Colony on KRS Road in city, yesterday. Department of Women and Child Development Director Renukaraj, who launched the initiative, addressed the gathering and advised parents and children to wear face mask, maintain social distance and use sanitiser to prevent the spread of the virus. BJP Women’s Wing General Secretary Nagaratna Gowda, Mysuru Yuva Balaga President Naveen, Papanna and others were present.

Members of Thoogudeepa Darshan Abhimanagala Balaga distributed grocery kits to employees of Gayathri Theatre in city. The kits were distributed by noted actor and theatre artiste Mandya Ramesh at the theatre premises. Former Mayor Sandesh Swamy, Gayathri Theatre owner M.R. Rajaram, Balaga members including Mahendra Singh Kalappa, Jeevadhara Girish, M.D. Parthasarathi and others were present on the occasion.
