Dakshina Kesari Awards Conferred

May 28, 2019

Mysuru:  “It is students’ responsibility to work towards welfare of the nation by inculcating values like social commitment, financial discipline and environmental awareness through education,” suggested University of Mysore (UoM) Registrar Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi.

He was speaking after conferring Dakshina Kesari Awards on students who have scored highest marks in SSLC examination and also felicitating sports persons at a function organised by Lions Club of Mysore South at Vijnana Bhavan auditorium, UoM, Manasagangothri, on Sunday.

“According to a western author, leaving behind a better environment compared to the time that we are born should be our duty and to that extent at least we should hold a total commitment. Former President APJ Abdul Kalam has suggested students to dream big and become the directors of their own destiny, but to tread carefully by adopting new ideas through education. No one can rob your knowledge. Education is the only asset that lasts long, so younger generation should realise this,” he said.
