Dalit organisations to stage stir on July 4

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly opposing the Government’s move to abolish Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Development Corporation, D. Devaraj Urs Backward classes Development Corporation, Valmiki Development Corporation, Minorities Development Corporation and Women’s Development Corporation, that were established to help the poor and marginalised sections of the society, city-based Dalita Pragatipara Sanghatanegala Okkoota, will hold a drum beating protest (tamate chaluvali) in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here at 10.30 am tomorrow (July 4).

The Okkoota has condemned the Government’s decision to close down these corporations citing losses, according to a press release.
