KFCC President Jayamala and Sa.Ra. Govind travel on Raja Marga
Mysuru: Even as the District Administration is preparing for this year’s Dasara festival starting from Oct. 11, the Mysuru City Police is leaving no stone unturned to ensure safe and hassle-free11-day festivities.
As part of the security arrangement, Dasara Special Officers – City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar accompanied by DCP (Law and Order) Dr. Harsha Priyamvada and DCP (Crime and Traffic) Sundar Raj went on an inspection-spree on ‘Ambaari’ bus.
The Police Officers checked for various security points along the Jumboo Savari route.
They also inspected the trees along the procession route to check if any of the branches had to be pruned to avoid the Golden Howdah coming in contact during the Jumboo Savari.
Meanwhile, with Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar inviting the Kannada film actors to take part in this year’s Dasara procession, Kannada Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) President Jayamala and former President Sa.Ra. Govind also travelled along with City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar to get the feel of the procession routes.
While it would take about 2.5 hours for the jumbos to reach the torchlight parade grounds in Bannimantap on the day of Jumboo Savari (Oct. 21), the veteran actress was given a glimpse of the procession route.
As far as the participation of Kannada actors is concerned, they are said to be taken on the ‘Ambaari ’ roof top bus along the procession route till K.R. Circle from Palace North Gate before they return to the Palace to watch Jumboo Savari spectacle from the galleries. However, the District Administration is yet to come out with a final decision.
