Dasara traffic diversion…

October 1, 2026

Asphalt road between Pushpashrama Junction and Shankar Nursing Home

Sir,

It is understood from news item in SOM (27.9.2026) that to ease traffic at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda (Manipal Hospital) Junction, the KSRTC and other Transport Buses entering Mysuru from Bengaluru (National Highway 275) during the Dasara Festival, would be diverted temporarily via the revised route from the said Junction to the left towards the Ring Road and proceed via Pushpashrama Junction and Mahadevapura Road (Sathagalli KSRTC Depot) Junction to reach Sub-Urban Bus Terminal.

As the flyover/ grade separator project work by the NHAI is going on at full pace, the traffic congestion at the Junction in question is surmounting even during the normal days.

The decision taken up by City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar to divert  KSRTC and other transport vehicles is highly appreciated, especially by the residents of the surroundings of Pushpashrama (Naidu Nagar).

However, the buses / traffic passing through the stretch of road between the Ring Road Junction (Pushpashrama) and Shankar Nursing Home will have to face a lot of hardship to navigate through this road because the said road, which was dug up for laying sanitary pipes some 2 to 3 years back, has not yet been asphalted despite repeated requests by the aggrieved citizens.

Movement of heavy traffic during Dasara will certainly cause extreme inconvenience not only to the pedestrians but also to the other two-wheelers and three-wheelers alike.

Hence, I request the Mysuru City Corporation to take necessary action without any further delay to asphalt the said stretch of road before Dasara.
