Dasara Yuva Sambhrama concludes

Mysuru: The 7-day Dasara Yuva Sambhrama concluded last evening at Amphitheatre in Manasagangothri with students from various colleges presenting dance programmes portraying environment protection, patriotism, problems of farmers and women empowerment.

Students of Jnanadhara FGC, Hunsur, presented a dance condemning deforestation expressing apprehension that days were not far when Oxygen booths should be installed for biosphere to breathe. Students of Seshadripuram College, Bengaluru, conveyed the richness of land and culture of the State through a dance with meaningful and thought-provoking lyrics. JSS Women’s PU College, Mysuru, presented a dance portraying Indian culture and tradition. Students of other colleges presented Yakshagana, national integration dance and others.

Fillip to participants

This year each student who participated in Yuva Sambhrama was paid Rs. 425 to cover costumes and rehearsal expenses along with travelling allowance. Choreographer of each participating team received Rs. 7,500 which was Rs. 5,000 last year.

Totally, students from 150 college participated in the event as against 123 last year. The results of the event is likely to be announced by this evening, according to Somashekar, Secretary, Dasara Yuva Sambhrama Sub-Committee.
