DC directs authorities to popularise Yeshasvini scheme

August 5, 2017

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep has directed the authorities to popularise Yeshasvini Co-operative Health Scheme.

Chairing a District Co-ordination Committee Meeting on Yeshasvini Co-operative Health Scheme focusing on farmers at his office here recently, Randeep said that Karnataka has the highest number of registrations under the scheme in 2015-16. But the State has slipped to second position in 2016-17, by registering only 3.12 lakh members out of the targeted 3. 25 lakh members.

As such, the authorities must initiate action for sensitising the people on the benefits of the scheme, he said.

District Co-operative Union President H.V. Rajeev, in his address, alleged that several hospitals were neglecting Yeshasvini beneficiaries and this was not a good sign.

He demanded framing of a time-table for hospital visits to check whether Yeshasvini beneficiaries were getting due benefits at hospitals.

Yeshasvini scheme Co-facilitator Kumar said that there were complaints against two hospitals in the city over collecting excess charges for surgeries and the authorities  concerned have been directed to look into the matter.

Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Shivakumaraswamy, DHO Dr. Basavaraj, DCC Bank Managing Director M. Nagaraj, President Chandrashekar, District Surgeon Dr. M. Pashupathi, Dr. G. Umesh and other officials attended the meeting.
