DC reconstitutes District Cable Television Monitoring Committee

Mysuru: The District Cable Television Monitoring Committee has been re-constituted with Deputy Commissioner as the Chairman.

Deputy Director, Department of Information and Public Relations, is the Member-Secretary.

The members comprise District Police Superintendent, City Police Commissioner, Principal of a Women’s College in District, Members of prominent NGOs serving for welfare of women and children, experts in education and social Science and Psychiatrists.

Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep chaired a meeting of the re-constituted Committee at his office here yesterday.

Randeep selected K. Saraswati, Director, Rural Literary and Health Programme, Sunitha of Organisation for Development of People, A. Nagaraj, Principal, Maharani Women’s First Grade College, S.G. Raghavendra, HoD  of Journalism and Dr. K. Kalachannegowda, retired Coordinator NSS, as members of the Committee and said that he would discuss with DHO regarding selection of  Psychiatrists.

He further said that a Complaint Cell (Ph: 0821-2423251) had been formed at the Department of Information and Public Relations on Dhanvantri Road here where people can register a complaint regarding any TV programme.

He added that the Committee would meet once in two months and review the complaints registered.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe, Maharani College Principal A. Nagaraj, Women and Child Welfare Department Programme Officer T. Sheshadri and Assistant  Director of Department of Information and Public Relations R. Raju were present.
