DC welcomes Golden Chariot guests

Mysuru: Golden Chariot, the luxury train in South India, with 40 guests including six foreigners arrived in city yesterday midnight from Bengaluru and is stationed at Ashokapuram Railway Station here as part of Dasara.

The guests were welcomed by Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, Tourism Department Deputy Director H. Janardhan and other officials with bouquets.

The guests, who stayed overnight in the train consisting of 18 bogies including a pantry coach, left for Srirangapatna in KSRTC Volvo bus arranged by the Tourism Department after having breakfast in the Golden Chariot.

Later, they visited Chamundi Hill, Nandi statue and had lunch at Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel.

The Golden Chariot will depart from Mysuru tonight after dinner and will reach Yeswanthpur Railway Station, Bengaluru tomorrow morning

The train will again come into city on Sept. 30 with 88 passengers, who have booked tickets so far.
