Demands from Congress Seva Dal

August 14, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Stating that the Congress Seva Dal plays a key role in boosting the party’s poll prospects, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar appealed the party leadership to give important positions to Seva Dal activists, if the party comes to power.

He was speaking at the day-long Seva Dal workshop organised under the aegis of District Congress at Congress Bhavan near City Railway Station here on Wednesday.

Opining that the Seva Dal is like a mother to the party, Dr. Vijaykumar said that the newly appointed KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar has given prominence for taking the Seva Dal along with the party. Maintaining that Opposition Leader and former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah is a model to those who want ideological politics, he regretted that, however, the society has not been supporting politicians who are working for the welfare of the people.

City Congress President R. Murthy said that the Seva Dal is conducting training workshops across the State and it is happy to note that the first such workshop was held in Mysuru. He further said that the workshop is all the more significant that it has happened on the birthday of former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, who hails from Mysuru.

Seva Dal State President Pyari Jaan, who inaugurated the Workshop, said that the commitment, dedication and determination of party workers is crucial for the growth of any political party. Maintaining that the Congress strongly opposes politics based on religion, caste and creed, he said that the Seva Dal has committed itself for the unity and integrity of the nation.
