Mysuru: A 55-year-old woman, said to be depressed over frequent family issues, allegedly committed suicide by hanging self at her residence in BEML Nagar here.

The deceased woman has been identified as Kemppammani, wife of Shivanna and a resident of BEML Nagar near Srirampura in city.

Kemppammani is said to have committed suicide by hanging self to the ceiling fan using a nylon rope where her family members were away. The incident came to light, when her family members returned home and found her hanging.

Kuvempunagar sub inspector  Raghu and KR Sub Division ACP Dharmappa, who visited the house, conducted preliminary investigations and suspected that Kemppammani may have taken the extreme step due to family feuds.

Kuvempunagar Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
