Devotees offer ‘Bhakti Samarpane’ to Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer

Mysore/Mysuru: Following the announcement of Padma Vibhsuhan award posthumously to late Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji, devotees of the city, under the leadership of MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, honoured the late Seer by offering Bhakti Samarpane to the incumbent Seer Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji at Sri Krishnadhama in Saraswathipuram here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji said that the Government of India honoured the late Seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji in recognition of his services to the society during his lifetime.

Pointing out that the late Seer widely travelled across the country for enlightening Hindus, he said though Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji is not alive today, the award conferred on him posthumously was received on behalf of his innumerable devotees.

Noting that the late Seer took part in five Paryayas which itself is a great achievement, Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji said it is virtuous on our part to have been with the late Seer in such holy events.

Recalling the efforts of Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji for the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, he said that Mysuru’s Sri Krishna Mandali and devotes have honoured the late Seer through Bhakti Samarpana.

Pointing out that the city’s Sri Krishnadhama was founded by Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji, he said that the late Seer was also instrumental in setting up such institutions in Bengaluru, Bagalkot and Koppal in Karnataka and in many other places  of the country.

Highlighting the contribution of the late Seer in the establishment of a number of educational institutions, hostels and old age homes, he said that the services of the late Seer to the society as a whole will always remain etched in the minds of the people.

MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, Poorna Prajna Vidyapeetha’s Vijendracharya, Anirudha Achar, Mohan, Puttanna Bhat, Sri Krishna Trust’s  P.S. Shekar,  community leaders Subramanya, Vikram Iyengar and others were present.
