Dilip Kumar discharged from Mumbai Hospital

Mumbai: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital on June 6, has been discharged this noon. The actor was hospitalised after he complained of breathlessness. 

Today (June 11), Faisal Farooqui, who handles Dilip Kumar’s Twitter account, updated fans about Dilip Kumar’s health and said that he is going home. Sharing the news of Dilip Kumar being discharged from the hospital, his family friend Faisal Farooqui wrote on Twitter, “With your love and affection, and your prayers, Dilip Saab is going home from the hospital. God’s infinite mercy and kindness through Dr. Gokhale, Parkar, Dr. Arun Shah and the entire team at Hinduja Khar. — Faisal Farooqui.”

On June 6, the official Twitter handle of Dilip Kumar shared the news of his hospitalisation. The tweet read, “Dilip Sahib has been admitted to non-COVID PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for routine tests and investigations. He’s had episodes of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr. Nitin Gokhale is attending to him. Please keep Sahib in your prayers and please stay safe (sic).”

Born as Muhammad Yusuf Khan on Dec. 11, 1922, Dilip Kumar made his acting debut in 1944 film Jwar Bhata. It was the 1947 film Jugnu that catapulted the actor to the limelight. The actor’s ancestral home in Pakistan is being converted into a museum by the government there.
