Disciplined bowling help Mumbai Indians thrash Chennai Super Kings

April 27, 2019

Lasith Malinga (4/37), Krunal Pandya (2/7) displayed disciplined bowling performances as Mumbai Indians (MI) thrashed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 46 runs at Cheapuk here.

By the virtue of the victory, MI have jumped to second spot in the IPL-2019 points table.

Chasing 156 to win, CSK could only manage 109 before being dismissed. Making a comeback for CSK, Murali Vijay top scored with 38 runs but failed to get support from the other batsmen.

CSK lost their top order in quick succession with only Dwayne Bravo (20) and Mitchell Santner (22) playing crucial cameos but failing to convert their start to match-winning knocks.

Earlier, skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front and helped MI post a competitive first innings total against CSK.
