Mysore/Mysuru: In order to contain the spread of COVID-19, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is spraying disinfectants (Sodium Hypochlorite) at various public places in city.
Similarly, following a request from Mysuru Central Jail Chief Superintendent Divyashree to spray the disinfectant as Jail is overcrowded and there are chances of contracting COVID-19, MCC Abhaya Team, along with Health Inspectors, sprayed disinfectants at all the Jail Cells and Office premises from afternoon till evening yesterday, said MCC Health Officer Dr. Nagaraju.
Dr. Nagaraju further said that the MCC had already disinfected Bus Stand, DC Office and KR Hospital, and KSRTC depot officials have also asked to spray disinfectants in their premises which will be done today or tomorrow.
It may be recalled that Mysuru Central Prison has a total of 820 inmates out of which 31 undertrials and 24 convicts were released recently as Supreme Court asked all States to consider releasing prisoners facing sentences of up to seven years in order to decongest prisons in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic.
