Mysuru: Going by the tradition, the District Administration hosted a special breakfast for Mahouts and Kavadis of Dasara elephants at the Palace premises here this morning.
The Mahouts and Kavadis along with their families had the breakfast that comprised holige, thatte idli, uddina vada, pongal, uppitu and a choice of beverages.
District in-Charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, MLA M.K. Somashekar, Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, Additional DC T. Yogesh, Assistant Commissioner S.N. Shivegowda, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, DCFs V. Yedukondalu and Hanumanthappa, RFO Devaraj and others were present.
Health camp: A team of 8 doctors from JSS Hospital conducted a health check-up camp for Mahouts, Kavadis and staff of Palace at the Palace premises this morning. The team included four Ayurveda doctors. As per an offer the Mahouts and Kavadis can follow up the cases at the JSS Ayurveda Hospital till Dec. 30.
Teachers feted: Minister Dr. Mahadevappa felicitated teachers Noor Fathima, M.V. Anitha, D. Nagendrakumar, Kusuma, Hemalatha, Indira and Mamatha serving at the Tent School in Palace premises on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
Mangaluru Chalo
When reporters sought his reaction for the proposed Mangaluru Chalo bike rally by BJP Yuva Morcha, Dr. Mahadevappa said that in democracy any protest is okay but it should be within the framework of law and added that it should not cause social problems and disturb law and order. He clarified that the Police would manage the situation.
