Mysore/Mysuru: District Minister S.T. Somashekar launched the programme of distributing grocery kits to 2,860 Anganwadi workers of the district at Kalamandira in city yesterday by symbolically distributing kits to 125 Anganwadi workers.

Chamraja MLA L. Nagendra, in his presidential address, said that distributing essentials to Anganwadi workers shows the concern of the District Minister. “The District Minister has become a role model by accumulating Rs. 2.85 crore from his friends, Constituency people and people’s representatives and donating the same towards the maintenance of Mysuru Zoo,” he added.

Anganwadi worker Bhagya expressed her gratitude for recognising their services that included collecting information from every house and distributing essentials. 

DC Abhiram G. Sankar, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO Prashanth Kumar Misra, Hasiru Mysuru President H.V. Rajeev, Mysuru Rural BJP President S.D. Mahendra and others were present on the occasion.
