District-level Yuvajanotsava at city stadium on Nov. 27

Mysore/Mysuru: A District-level Yuvajanotsava 2023-24 has been organised by the State Government in association with the District Administration, Zilla Pan-chayat, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES)and Nehru Yuva Kendra on Nov.27 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in city.

 Those interested to take part in the contests should report at the venue at 8.30 am. They must be in the age group of 15 to 29 years, youths, school and college students, office-bearers and members of Youth Associations registered with DYES.

The first prize winners in the District-level contests will become eligible to take part in State-level Yuvajanotsava. The winners of State-level will become eligible to take part in National-level competitions. The Government will bear the travel and daily expenses of contestants, stated a press release from Assistant Director of DYES.

Categories: Only 10-member troupe can take part in group dance (folk dance), with a dura-tion of 15 minutes to perform. Similarly 10-member group singing in folk category is allowed to participate with a duration of seven minutes, followed by solo dance and solo singing in folk category, with a duration of seven minutes for each performance.

Story-writing contest is also organised in 60-minute duration. The story should be clear in perspective, without any provocative content. There should not be any reference to caste, race, colour and community.

Poster-making contest is also organised, but the contestants should not use the name of any institute or brand. The concept should be of 20 to 30 words and duration is 90 minutes for the competition.

For Photography contest, the contestants can choose either of the following topics: Developing India, Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Yoga, Sports, Physical Activity for Fitness and Nature.
