Doctor cheated of Rs. 1.56 lakh

Mysore/Mysuru: Online fraudster has cheated a city doctor of Rs. 1.56 lakh in the guise of getting him a loan from Bank.

The victim is 55-year-old Kukke Subramanya, a resident of Madhuvana Layout in Srirampura.

The fraudster, who called Subramanya from Mob: 90351-37366, introduced himself as an employee of a private Bank and told Subramanya that a loan amount of Rs. 25 lakh was sanctioned from the Bank and obtained Subramanya’s Bank account statement and other related documents on WhatsApp.

The fraudster then got Rs. 1,56,935 transferred from Subramanya as processing fee thus cheating him.

A case has been registered at CEN Police Station in city.
