KSRTC: Facilitate rest-room breaks for passengers

March 24, 2024

Sir,

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the recent experiences my spouse and I had to undergo, while traveling to and from Mysuru to Trichur by Airavat night service operated by KSRTC.

Unfortunately, both journeys were marred by significant discomfort, particularly during our trip from Mysuru to Trichur.

During our outbound journey, although the bus made a stop outside Kozhikode Bus Stand, the driver failed to allow sufficient time for female passengers to access the rest-room facilities. Conversely, on the return journey, the bus opted for the bypass road and did not enter the bus stand at all.

The absence of accessible rest-room facilities during such prolonged journeys poses a significant challenge, especially for female passengers. It is imperative that KSRTC authorities take proactive measures to address this issue and ensure that adequate provisions are made for passengers, regardless of gender, utilising their night bus services.

I urge KSRTC to issue strict  instructions for their long-distance bus drivers, mandating the facilitation of rest-room breaks for all passengers.

I trust that prompt action will be taken to rectify this lacuna and enhance the overall travel experience for passengers utilising KSRTC’s long route services.
